Assignment 1: Engineering Design (ED)
The engineering design process is a multi-step process including the research, conceptualization, feasibility assessment, establishing design requirements, preliminary design, detailed design, production planning and tool design, and finally production.
Basically there are seven phases of ED as follows:
Phase 1: Conceptual Design
Phase 2: Embodiment Design
Phase 3: Detail Design
Phase 4: Planning for Manufacture
Phase 5: Planning for Distribution
Phase 6: Planning for Use
Phase 7: Planning for Product Retirements
