What is #fit2drive?
The Malaysian Automotive Institute would like to invite students to create a social media campaign to raise the awareness of Malaysians towards the importance of vehicle inspections to ensure the road-worthiness of their vehicles. The #fit2drive challenge is a call to action. We challenge Malaysian engineering students to
  • learn about vehicle inspection and Malaysian vehicle inspection plan. Your technical knowledge puts you in a position to better understand the issue, use your creativity & energy to reach as many Malaysians as you can. We've explained the policy here, and will also hold a briefing and a forum with industry experts (the forum will be on the 28th of September at IIUM, and is mandatory for all teams).
  • create & implement social media campaigns to raise awareness. Use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and/or any other platform to get your ideas out. Campaigns of the highest quality, and the greatest reach, will make it to the finals. For more information, check out Tournament Rules & Judging Criteria and Terms & Conditions.
  • The top 5 teams will qualify to the finals, where you'll defend your campaign to our panel of judges, and explain why your campaign is the best. The winner will get RM 3000 and an exclusive trip to the Tokyo Motor Show. The #fit2drive Finals & Closing will tentatively be held on the 29th of October 2013.

How do I participate?
  1. Make a team. Each team must consist of at least 3 and at most 5 Malaysians who are studying Engineering at a local institution (all team members must be from the same institution). Each team must have one advisor, who is a faculty member at that institution. Register your team here
  2. Attend the #fit2drive Briefing and Launch. On the 28th of September at IIUM Gombak, we will organize a competition briefing for all teams. There will also be a forum on Vehicle Inspection, featuring industry experts. This is your chance to learn about the policy, understand the challenge parameters and network with industry leaders as well as other competitors.
  3. Run your campaign. Setup your FB page, send our your tweets, make YouTube videos - whatever you want. Campaigns don't have to use every social media platform - use whatever you think works best for your strategy. MAI will monitor your campaigns. You will be required to send progress updates to MAI, so we can help you along. You're also welcome to drop by the MAI offices to get feedback, use our resources or get advice.
  4. Attend the #fit2drive Finals & Closing. All teams will be invited to the finals, where the top 5 teams will defend their campaigns in front our panel of judges.
